Analyst predicts that faster broad band speeds will boost the adoption of cloud computing by SMB’s
Analysys Mason, partner Matt Yardley, has recently stated that he believes enabling access to higher speed broadband networks across the UK will help SMB’s get the most out of the latest wave of technology.
Yardley believes that the lack of fibre access in the UK is placing a natural constraint on small business looking to adopt new cloud technologies.
Mr Yardley went on to explain “In many markets including the UK we are just starting to see new networks, new higher capacity fibre networks. “
The expert believes that faster connection speeds offered by higher capacity networks, will boost the uptake of cloud computing by smaller companies who are looking to reap the benefits of cloud computing.
Many industry analysts are predicting that 2010 will be the year that cloud computing really takes its place as the major force in the IT industry. If broadband coverage and speeds continue to grow, then one of the last natural barriers to small business adopting cloud solutions.
